Ukrainian customs for marriage

A Ukrainian bride is a breathtakingly wonderful festival that is jam-packed with dances and music. It can last several days with several songs, events, and various festivities. It is typically held on a Saturday ( though very religious ceremonies can be performed on Sunday ).

Just before the religion ceremony starts, one of the most significant festivities takes place. The bride and groom meet their particular households at the residence of the bride’s families during this event, which is known as the Blahoslovenya. These, the families of the bride and groom formally review of their kids getting married. On their special moment, the wedding even gets to meet the bride here for the first moment.

The people receive a rushnyk (embroidered handkerchief) that they must step on after meeting their families. In their relationship, it is thought that whoever steps on it first will be the head of the household. Before taking their commitments, the couple steps on this blanket that they brought with them to the church.

Another custom that takes place during the cathedral service is where several godparent people love the partners. It’s pretty a sight when there are frequently 10 or more godparent people per partners! These are also the same folks who may look after them and send them their best wishes for a happy marriage. In the end, the pair makes their way down the aisle hand in hand and accepts their jewels from the preacher, demonstrating their unity as a real staff!
